Here are this week's predictions for Boston College vs. If Boston College, currently ranked 22nd nationally, is able to defeat Virginia Tech and improve to 4-1 in the ACC, they would control their own destiny in the Atlantic ahead of a huge showdown next weekend against Clemson at Alumni Stadium. Virginia Tech. Welcome back to a weekly feature where the Eagle Insiders staff does one final breakdown of the upcoming game before making a prediction.

Dog of the day

Will they do that? Sure there is the constant dread of a let down game, but I just think this game lines up perfectly for the Eagles. Oh I am feeling this game big time. Who knows, but a man can dream right? I just want to see the Eagles go in, exert their will, build up a lead and just get ready for Clemson.

who had 21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block. Virginia Tech shot 60.0% from the field and 61.1% from beyond the arc in the victory. Virginia Tech led by just a 30-28 margin at halftime, however, was able to pull away late in the 2nd half after an 11-0 Hokies run gave Virginia Tech a 71-53 lead with 5:14 left in regulation. Leading the way for the Hokies was Kerry Blackshear Jr. The 10th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies won their 7th straight game and improved to 12-1 (1-0 ACC) on the season after defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 81-66, this past Tuesday.

Despite Virginia Techs 4-3 record, this is an even matchup and itll likely go down to the wire. With that being said, Tech has plenty of weapons in the passing game and is not afraid to sling it around. This is a veteran team that I believe will rise to the challenge, defeat the Hokies and head into Clemson next week with their confidence at an all-time high. Its hard to pick against the Hokies at home, but Boston College knows whats at stake here. BCs secondary has been opportunistic this season (13 interceptions) and with a backup quarterback under center, Hamp Cheevers, Lukas Denis and company have to be licking their chops.

ACC Roundup, Rankings, Bowl Projections, Schedules, Predictions: Week 9

Offensively, Tech is putting up 32.1 points and 436.7 yards per game. Ryan Willis has thrown for 1,258 yards and 10 touchdowns with three interceptions. The Hokies are allowing 28 points and 425.3 yards per game on defense this season. Their run defense is giving up 171.9 yards per contest. Damon Hazelton is the leading receiver with 35 catches for 596 yards and six touchdowns while Steven Peoples has rushed for 458 yards and five scores.

The Hokies can compete on defense, despite being beaten up by some others. BC isnt terribly creative on offense, so its smashmouth style should lead to some lengthy possessions. The Hokies have struggled on offense in terms of consistently putting up points. With the total approaching 60 points, I like the under. Despite the turn on offense this season, the Eagles are still a pretty good defensive team and I think they will give Virginia Tech problems.
