Our Prediction:

Bianca Andreescu will win

Bianca Andreescu – Naomi Osaka Match Prediction | 05-10-2019 09:00

But she will be given a stern test by Bencic, who has begun to realize her formidable potential this season. The Canadian has played just a handful of tournaments so far this year, but she has won two of them and looks to have a real chance of going all the way in New York as well. Jim:This should be a great match. Both women come into New York in great form, Andreescu particularly so.

She has also looked vulnerable throughout her career to being outhit by players who can hit the ball as hard as Kvitova. Sabalenka did just that last week in the Wuhan Open semifinals, as did Kvitova in the quarterfinals at Melbourne Park. Ashleigh Barty looked similarly impressive in her opener, beating Yulia Putintseva 6-4 6-2, but had to work rather harder in the last 16 to get the better of Zheng Saisai. Barty could well find herself in trouble again at the China Open.

H2H Naomi Osaka vs. Bianca Vanessa Andreescu | Beijing prediction, odds, preview

The Canadian and the Swiss are each looking for their first Slam final, so expect a battle which neither Bencic nor Andreescu will easily yield. Tracey:This is an incredible match-up between two feisty competitors playing at the top of their game. To predict a winner, it comes down to the intangibles. So much determination and fearless in the biggest moments. That lands squarely with the 19-year-old Andreescu. Andreescu will keep prodding until she finds a way into Bencics very solid game. All the shots, all the weapons, solid serves there is so little that separates Belinda Bencic and Bianca Andreescu in terms of shot-making ability.

There remains the possibility of the occasion getting the better of the teenager, but based on what we have seen thus far, she should be able to hold her ground. If she is able to get off to a quick start, Williams will feel the pressure of the occasion and the scoreboard. Andreescu on the other hand, also has what it takes to win this match.

Even though Bencic will prove tough as she has been playing well in her own right, but I would give the edge to the Canadian simply because she has been so consistent all year. Eric:Andreescu has literally forgotten how to lose and has problem solved through all her matches so far at New York.

Elina Svitolina and Kiki Bertens are another pair that have had some gripping contests in the past. Bertens too has been pushed hard in her three matches. On paper, there looks to be little to split this pair. But Bertens did rather benefit from Hercogs inability to hold onto a lead in their third-round clash. Svitolina has had to battle hard all week, but has shown commendable grit to pick up victories over Anastasija Sevastova, Wang Yafan and Sofia Kenin. It seems unlikely that Svitolina will be so forgiving. And with both women looking to be in good form so far in Beijing, this could well be another.

US Open Semifinal Prediction

This is the big one. Surely the first of many significant clashes to come in the future, both Naomi Osaka and Bianca Andreescu will surely be desperate to lay a marker down. She has continued in that vein so far in Beijing, storming through Jessica Pegula, Andrea Petkovic and Alison Riske, all in straight-sets. Osaka, after a long period of struggle after her Australian Open triumph, rediscovered her winning touch in Osaka where she claimed the title without dropping a set.

But her game is evidently well-suited to the conditions in Beijing and if she is willing to play more on the front foot against Kasatkina, she should be in good position to make a dent in the Russians head-to-head advantage. She started her week with a comprehensive victory over Lauren Davis and hasnt looked back, adding straight-sets victories over Christina McHale and Katerina Siniakova. But the Dane has been in excellent form so far in Beijing. Wozniacki was, at times, guilty of playing too passively against Siniakova.
