Well done to the senior lads who put in a great performance against Aughnasheelin on Sunday evening, the lads stormed into an early lead scoring 4 goals in the first 10 minutes of the match to take control, the lads added a second goal in the second half to leave the final score 5:05 to 0:02.

Well done to the lads on a fantastic victory on Saturday evening against Gottletteragh, the lads won by a score of 3:12 to 0:14, the result leaves us second in the league one point behind Mohill, the next couple of weeks will be busy for the lads with two games a week first up this week is a match against Melvin Gaels at 20:00 on Wednesday evening followed by a match on Saturday at 1900 against St Marys.

Sunday games will be fixed for 12 noon, 1.30 pm and 5 pm. there can be no deviation from this schedule.Games on Friday nights will be fixed for 8.30 pm in Cloone.Saturday games will be fixed for 5.30 pm and 7 pm up to quarter-final stage. Competitions commence on Friday, July 26th as the 2018 County Senior Champions Aughawillan face-off with Aughnasheelin in Cloone at 8.30pm. CCC Liatroma has publicised the schedule of group matches for the Connacht Gold SFC, Smith Monumentals IFC and Vistamed JFC A and B. CCC has also made it clear that in order to facilitate people booking time off from work etc.

Special thanks to the organising committee, cyclists and of course everyone that sponsored us on the day. Special thanks to all of our intrepid cyclists that took the long and the hard way to Roscommon on Sunday, thankfully the weather was good and our support team of mechanics and medical staff was not needed with all of our cyclists making it to the Hyde in time with little or no injury and just a thirst for pints.

It was a hard-fought draw for the senior lads on Saturday in Cloone when they took on our neighbours Drumreilly in the second round of this years championship. As was expected Drumreilly were a stern test and led by 1 point at half time with the score 0:07 to 1:05. Both team continued to trade points before Drumreilly scored an important goal to lead by three with 14 mins of the second half gone. The second half started well for Drumreilly with the adding a couple of quick points to give them a three-point lead, the lads rallied and after 10 minutes the sides were level. It was nip and tuck for the rest of the game with the lads levelling and then taking the lead only for Drumreilly to level near the end, with the final score 1:12 to 2:09.

Next up for the lads is a match against Carrigallen in Cloone on Sunday at 12:00, your support for these great lads would be appreciated. The second round of the intermediate championship took place on Sunday and this time the lads were up against Kiltubrid who proved to be very strong team winning the match with a score of 3-22 to 0-10.

Special thanks to Kiltubrid GAA for joining us for a blitz in Ballinamore on Saturday with u9 and u7 taking part. Training for U9 and U11 continuous on Monday evening at 19:00. All the children played and had a great time, thanks to all the mentors for coming and a big shout out to some of our nursery players who made their debuts today well done all.

The Relegation Series pairings have also been decided and these ties are scheduled to take place later in the month. Following this evenings results in the Connacht Gold Leitrim Senior Football Championship, the quarter-final pairings have been decided and these matches will be played on Sunday next, September 15th, at venues and times to be confirmed by CCC Liatroma at a later stage.

Well done to our young hurlers who were in action in the Tain u13 final against a very good Warronpoint team. It was a tough match for the lads who eventually lost to this very experienced team, the lads never gave up and fought to the bitter end and showed how far they have progressed over the last year and it was fitting that Kian McGovern received the man of the match award at the end.
